I love-to-bake things – sweet or savoury, and thought I’d put my knowledge to some good use and pass on some of the tips and tricks that I have learned over the years. This site will provide many different recipes that you can try, as well as some photos and videos and tips on how to improve them.

My background can be found at the beginning of my blog but from being a child I have always loved to bake. I love sharing my knowledge with people. My favourite pastime is messing around with recipes and seeing what works and what doesn’t.

If you are already a confident and experienced home baker you can go straight to the recipes page and try your hand at some of my ideas and impress your family and friends with the quality of your cakes, scones, biscuits and pies.

New flavours, different tastes and dietary requirements all contribute to the development of new recipes. Often we have to experiment a little in order to suit the needs of the consumer. On this website I will show you how to adapt recipes using alternative ingredients and different baking techniques to change the taste and texture to suit.

Well how things change when you least expect them too. I am now working full time as a cafe supervisor at the Old School Café in Durham which is part of St.Margaret’s Centre. This is a volunteer led community hub which focuses on mental health in everyone. As my job is still in an area which I love – baking – I can still get my fix whilst working in the café but still get my fill of writing about food on my food blog right here at Love-to-bake.uk.
