I have been rather busy in the kitchen. Yesterday, I made loads of different Dipping Cookies and took loads of different photos of them. These cookies were a big hit in my market stall days.I used many different [amazon_textlink asin=’B01CTYVFNA’ text=’cookie cutters ‘ template=’ProductLink’ store=’wwwlovetobake-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’dcf06c03-fc22-11e6-9862-4b13fc606435′] which you can purchase from Amazon. These cookies are my basic shortbread recipe but with some of them I added [amazon_textlink asin=’B007CX3BRW’ text=’ginger’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’wwwlovetobake-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’ff75b32e-fc22-11e6-a9eb-f1f63489f393′] and [amazon_textlink asin=’B007CX2NYO’ text=’cinnamon’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’wwwlovetobake-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’0fd37546-fc23-11e6-8aca-5faa0e61b324′] into the recipe to give them a different flavour. By the end of yesterday the cookies had all disappeared. Just a few crumbs left.
I have included links to amazon products in the above paragraph if you are interested in trying the cookie ideas out for yourself [amazon_textlink asin=’B01CTYVFNA’ text=’cookie cutters ‘ template=’ProductLink’ store=’wwwlovetobake-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’dcf06c03-fc22-11e6-9862-4b13fc606435′] or spices.
I have already shared this recipe on my website under the title of Jammy Dodgers. It is also available on Yummly and Pinterest. plenty of places to view it and try it from. Many changes can be made to a basic shortbread recipe and over the years I have tried many different flavours of shortbread. I don’t think I have a real favourite – well maybe a shortbread cookie involving jam.
This morning, I decided to try some different recipes on the children so I set about messing around in the kitchen. First of all I made Jammy Buns , which although they don’t sound or look very exciting are actually very nice. They remind me of rock buns in that they may well have to be eaten on the day they are made. I am sure my family can achieve this though.
I then made some Ginger Biscuits which I made up as I went along. I did not want to make a ginger snap biscuit so I used self raising flour instead. once they were baked my husband informed my that they reminded him of [amazon_textlink asin=’B00IXJNIZY’ text=’rusks’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’wwwlovetobake-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’256045b5-fc23-11e6-a08a-4fcde717aa3c’]. That popular baby and toddler treat. He made me feel really happy and competent with my baking knowledge and the fact that I could have made homemade rusks for my children all those years ago. Hahaha. 🙂
