OMG, I am aching all over which could mean I am coming down with something or that this morning’s job in the house has taken its toll and I am too weary to do anything else today. I feel like I am a “Jack of all trades” at the moment – trying to get everything finished and up to date before the weekend.  My main job of the day has been to paint the bathroom ceiling which I have done a brilliant job on – even though I say it myself. I was so tired afterwards that the children had to make their own lunch – which they managed very well. Just a shame they didn’t make any for me!!

My Books
My Books

After, I had tidied up the mess from painting and a few other jobs I sat down and started on my next recipe book which is all about Halloween Baking. I have a list of  scary recipes which I am going to include and some recipes which I still need to try so I am trying to get some of the writing out of the way before next week and my family holiday.  I know it is a bit early to be thinking about Halloween but in the writing game you have to be one step ahead or so I have been told.  This book will have a variety of recipes which will be suited to all skill levels from basic to expert and all in between. It will include nutritional facts, costings to make the recipes, equipment needed to make the recipes and changes which can be made to suit different dietary requirements. Once, I am back from my holiday I know that I will have loads to do to get this book  up to scratch and having the children off school will make it twice as hard.

Oatmeal Cookies
Oatmeal Cookies

Baking in the kitchen today, I am planning on making some  Oatmeal Cookies with a variety of sweets in them to keep all the family happy as the cupboards are almost bare and I do not have the energy to go to the supermarket.  I have not made Oatmeal Cookies for ages so I am hoping I have all the ingredients in the cupboard already otherwise I will have to improvise. I am sure the children will enjoy the cookies because they haven’t had them for quite a few weeks now.   I will share the recipe and what sweets we added to the cookies tomorrow. I will have to leave the supermarket visit till tomorrow. 🙁  I hate going shopping for food with all the children in tow. It is my worst nightmare.   I always seem to spend more when I have the children with me as they just keep picking food up and I just give in to them and buy it. Normally, I would have my groceries delivered but I don’t even have the energy to go and look in the cupboards etc to see what we need.

I really enjoyed writing my blog post yesterday about how I decide on the pricing for my home baked products. I feel that I put my heart and soul into that article. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I am going to write another one about [amazon_textlink asin=’B007230FE4′ text=’ packaging’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’wwwlovetobake-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’e36d63a6-709e-11e7-8188-ef8e3e19e91d’] and the choices which can be made when you are running your own home baking  business. Also, I need to play catch up with my recipes and add some more to my recipe page as well as change the recipe of the week. Another ingredient is going to be added before the end of the week, time permitting. I don’t know how I am going to get through next week without good internet connection in order to keep up to date with my blog – so please bear with me. I will be writing some articles and taking pictures which I will share when I come back.

For the rest of the week, it is “Lasagne Day” on Saturday and my family love Lasagne. I will be making and sharing a meat recipe and non-meat recipe for Lasagne at the weekend. On Sunday, it is “Cheesecake Day” and I love making Cheesecake. So it looks like it is cheesecake for dessert on Saturday.  I have made cheesecake before so I am a dab hand at it and my cheesecake is out of this world. Just have to decide what flavour to make the cheesecake now. What a meal that is going to be. 🙂
