Where to start today. This has been the first chance I have had to sit and write anything on my blog, catch up on emails and check out the photos on my camera which I need to upload. I have recipes to write, another couple of bakes to get made as I have ingredients to use up.  First things first though, two of my recipe books will be available from the 16th August for one week only at the 99c before going back up to the original price on the 23rd August 2017.  The other book, my first book Advice for home bakers and would be entrepreneurs is being promoted on various pages throughout Amazon in the near future so you can always grab a copy whenever you feel like it. 🙂

Plum Crumble Cake
Plum Crumble Cake

Baking in the kitchen over the next twenty four hours, I have some fresh plums to use which I was given from a family friend who has plum trees in her garden. I am going to make a Plum Crumble Cake for dinner which will go lovely with icecream or custard (whatever the children prefer). Also, there are some bananas which are on the turn so they will be made into a Banana Cake with the welcome addition of [amazon_textlink asin=’B004BFHRQ0′ text=’Nutella ‘ template=’ProductLink’ store=’wwwlovetobake-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’10cf74d5-80fa-11e7-a3eb-e3142cb45433′]to my son’s delight. For dinner tonight we are going to have stir fry vegetables with noodles which my daughter is quite excited about as she made the same meal in food technology last term – but I didn’t get to see what she made as she ate it all before I picked her up from school. So it must have been good as she would never eat noodles and stir fry before this. I just hope my version of this meal does it justice and she enjoys it just as much. I am going to let her help making this meal later so we make it to her liking.

Now party ideas, for the aforementioned daughter’s birthday party, last Friday, I made great use of the brownies which I had made by adding them to skewers along with marshmallows and strawberries before drizzling milk chocolate over them. These skewers proved a big hit with young and old and will be added to any future parties which I am invited too.

Instead of a birthday cake I decided to make Icecream Sundae Cupcakes which would be easier to share amongst the people at my daughter’s party. These were so easy to make and I will be sharing the recipe on my blog later. The cupcakes were so handy and allowed me not to have to bother making party bags up for the girls who were there as they just ate the cake as part of the party food. My daughter and her friends commented on the cakes and the flavour which I made to my daughter’s favourite – strawberry. All in all a good day all round and I would thoroughly recommend the game of “blindfold pizza making” as the mess the party goers made was really not that bad but the faces and noises they made as they decorated their pizzas was hilarious. Messy hands all round it seemed. 🙂
