You learn from your mistakes or so they say. At the weekend, I had my first Etsy order from my Love-to-bake.uk shop on Etsy. A complete surprise out of the blue as I had forgotten about the little shop which I had set up about a month ago. This is the first time I have needed to use the postal services as my other orders I have had were local deliveries only which I did not need to post. All weekend, I have been really nervous about sending my traybakes through the post but I will know tomorrow if the traybake arrives safely. Scared is not the word. At the time when I was trialling packaging I never got round to trying the traybakes which looking back on it now is a really stupid thing to do and I am kicking myself. I checked that the traybake will not move about and I sent it first class so fingers crossed it arrives okay. The trial is posting the traybake and the error was charging the wrong postage for the parcel which is why I have changed the prices for the postage on my shops but they are still less than some other homebaking sites. I will still be searching for the best or better method to post my products so if anyone has any ideas please let me know.
For today, I have been a bit under the weather. I think the children have passed their lurgy onto me so I have a sore throat and a pounding head. Not impressed at all as I still have loads to do. Even when you are a mother who is poorly you still have to get on with things and I am trying to pace myself so that I don’t have too much to do later – I can then just go to bed. I haven’t made the last two recipes for my Halloween recipe book today but I have already prepared dinner for tonight. A Sausage Plait of sorts – recipe and photos later. I think I will have a bowl of soup if I still feel like I do.
Tomorrow, looks like it is going to be a busy day finishing off the last bakes for the new book, then proof reading it before publishing it at last. I can’t wait to get it finished then I can concentrate on my shop and create some more recipes using my alternative ingredients.
