Well what can I say but thank you to all my customers who have tried the new Empire Biscuits – Chocolate Orange Empire Biscuits. These biscuits were a variation on the standard Empire Biscuits which I decided to try out after a chatting to a customer about what I was going to be working on next when she collected her order from my house one day. I had already chatted to my husband – or rather talked his ear off about my ideas so when a customer suggested orange curd I went with it. Oh my goodness these biscuits are fantastic and I have had some wonderful feedback about them already.
“Wow! Those chocolate orange empire biscuits are quite possibly the most delicious thing I’ve ever tasted!”
I have some other flavour combinations which I want to try soon with the Empire Biscuits as they do seem to be my best seller in fact my nickname at home is the “Queen of the Empire Biscuit”. I’m not too sure about this title but I do thank my mother-in-law every day for telling me the secret to making a good Empire Biscuit. 🙂
I started this blog post about a week ago and I have only just managed to sit down to finish it as I have been so busy with other jobs, this week. The school and college return seemed to take up the most time as I think all my children were slightly concerned and needed reassurance that it would be okay. Only time will tell on that front but in the mean time I just have to keep the children healthy in mind, as well as, physically so plenty of walks in the fresh air are the order of the day (for two of my children anyway). I can’t seem to make the eldest two daughters leave their bedroom today except to eat but I’m not going to force them as it has been a difficult week for them. Maybe next week will be easier for them we will just have to wait and see.
Next week I have orders for more Empire Biscuits and a Brownie Wheel which are to be posted on Monday. As for the rest of the week, I’m trying to decide if I should offer a Treat Box on Friday or whether I should just concentrate on the children and my studying again.
The house sale is moving along nicely and it is just a waiting game for us but I keep thinking I should close the shop to spend some time packing things up but I still feel it is too early to start these jobs yet so I am playing it by ear right now. It might be an abrupt closure to the webshop so I am apologising now before it happens 🙁 I don’t want to shut the shop again so soon after the summer, but I will have to, in order to move and re-register my kitchen in the new house, once I have moved. Fingers crossed it doesn’t take for ever when the time comes. 🙂
I’m going to spend the rest of the weekend with my family as there is homework to be completed before Monday and I am hoping to get out somewhere tomorrow for a break from these four walls. 🙂
