This week has gone from savoury bakes to sweet bakes in such a rush. I don’t know where the week has gone and I still have sooo much to get through before I start baking again on Monday. The orders are coming in thick and fast now which is great 🙂 Thank you to my customers for keeping me busy.
The week started with orders for 2 Large Corned Beef Pies – one of which the customer wanted to unbaked so that they could freeze it at home for a later date. Should keep them busy for a while I think?
In the middle of the week I had a request for a rather bespoke Milky Bar Cheesecake for a customer so I spent time on Wednesday making this order. What a hit this Milky Bar Cheesecake has been on social media to the point that I decided to offer the same flavour plus a Milky Way Cheesecake as part of the Friday Treat Box, this week. I wasn’t going to do a treat box but I am so glad I have and as for the Milky Way Cheesecake I can blame my son for this as he loves the advert from the 1980’s for Milky Ways which he is constantly playing on Youtube titled “Red Car and the Blue Car had a Race” – if anyone would like to watch it too. Perhaps whilst eating a Milky Way Cheesecake?
This evening I need to try and bake another Fruit Cake the Crumble Topped Fruit Cake to use as a sample cake for any customers who order over the next few weeks. I think this is a great way to let people “try before they buy”. 🙂
As for the weekend, I am hoping to be quite lazy, as the last two months have been taken up with my daughter’s dance showcase so it is time to have a mini slow down for myself – well until Sunday afternoon when I prep for Mondays bakes.
On Monday, I have Low Carbohydrate Cupcakes and Vegan Cupcakes to bake for a customer. i have made these type of cakes before so I already have most of the recipes and ingredients organised so I just need to print the labels and I will be totally organised.
From Tuesday, I am hoping to finish the Chocolate Bites for the Halloween Treat Boxes which have been ordered as this is the only item I can make ahead of the collection day. Then, I want to get on top of my book keeping as I don’t want to leave it too late ( i.e., in Christmas holidays) for the tax return in January 2020.
Friday, I will be busy baking a large batch of Traybakes for a customer who is collecting from my door and I am looking forward to this order as it will finish the week off rather nicely.
As next Friday, is the start of the half term holidays, I will be spending the week prepping for the treat boxes and entertaining my children, encouraging them with revision, homework and so on in preparation for the mock GCSE’s which are rapidly approaching 🙁 – Too much stress don’t you think? Well that is my week planned out what about yours?
