Although Christmas has been and gone and we have probably had way too many chocolate and sweet things over the festive period I am still in the chocolate mood? The Savoury Bakes last week were an attempt to steer me away from the sweet bakes but it hasn’t worked. Don’t get me wrong I loved baking the Savoury Pies on Friday and if anything it has made me realise I maybe should look at the prices for these products as the ingredients have become more expensive this last few months.
Although, I am not eating loads of chocolate I am in the mood for creating some new ideas and as “Valentines Day” is just around the corner my brain is working over time with ideas that I want to try. There will be:-
- Cookie Bar Slices
- Chocolate Hearts
- Marshmallow Pops
- Valentine Bark
- Cupcakes
- plus a whole lot more being made in my kitchen over this next week.
In fact the Friday Treat Box this week, is going to be Cupcakes based on the Foodie Calendar which I make use of a lot throughout the year. This week there is “National Strawberry Ice Cream Day” and “National Popcorn Day” to be celebrated so the Cupcakes will be decorated with these themes in mind. What lovely days to celebrate don’t you think? There are savoury days too on the Foodie Calendar but I am in a sweet mood right now so let’s just run with it. I have a couple of ideas that I want to try out on you the discerning public 🙂 I can’t help it I just love trialling ideas and getting feedback from other “guinea pigs” as my family are biased I think?
Back to the Peach Melbas which I baked on Monday to celebrate “National Peach Melba Day” (one of my favourite days). What can I say except Thank You to my customers who managed to buy all 16 Peach Melbas within 2 hours. I had not even managed to get the photos uploaded onto social media before I had received enough messages from my regular customers who claimed the lot. Sorry to those who missed out but feel free to order from me with a private message or email any time if you would like to try something that I bake. 🙂 I don’t know why but I really enjoyed making the Peach Melbas yesterday and I hope all my customers who managed to buy some enjoyed eating them too. 🙂 I am thinking of adding the Peach Melbas to the webshop but until then feel free to order anytime. Remember collection only for this product.
Right back to admin and behind the scenes work of my business. Already ordered some new chocolate moulds and decorations which I can’t wait to be delivered but I still want to take a trip to the supermarket to see what Valentine goodies they have in stock. I have so much to catch up with right now that I really need to stay up a bit later tonight, if I can?
