Well it’s nearly time for the children to go back to school. Part of me is feeling good about it as I can get some time to myself to get through some jobs that I have not been able to do whilst the children have been off school. However, I have really enjoyed the long lie-ins the morning and the pyjama days (of which we are had our last one yesterday). The slower pace of life while on the school holidays is lovely and will be sadly missed. I know that as from next week, the shouting for the children to get out of bed will begin but I must think of the benefits to myself as when they are at school is when I can try and get most of my blogging and online work done before they finish school on an afternoon. I like to keep the end of school days free for time with the children :).

To celebrate the “back to school” time I have added a Friday Treat Box to my shop this week which contains 6 slices of puddings which I can remember from my school days – 2 Marble Cake slices, 2 Sprinkles Cake slices and 2 Cornflake Tart slices. What more can you ask for as a weekend treat for the children after their first week back at school. These traybakes are  available on my shop for you to order for postal delivery to anywhere in the UK. I  will be adding more puddings to this School Puddings idea at a later date as there are so many choices to work with here. So if you fancy an old school home baked treat for your weekend with family and friends then order one soon. 🙂

As you can see at the top of my blog I have changed the header image to a mini slide show of my favourite bakes to date. I love the idea of a moving first image which hits you as soon as you visit my site. It is something which I can change and play around with over the coming months. 🙂 Also, I have updated the featured posts and recipes as I wanted to move my recipe links towards Halloween and Christmas. I know a bit early but you have to keep thinking ahead in this business. I have even told the children to try and think of something different I can bake for Halloween that I haven’t baked before. My Spider Buns were  big hit last year on social media. Thinking caps on!!

As for the rest of today, I am going to continue working on my products in my webshop before I move on to any other jobs – of which there are plenty. Sometime this week, I will be trialling sugar substitutes again, putting my recipe books on promotion through Amazon, catching up on paperwork and book keeping and adding more posts to my social media sites. 🙂 This will all be done in between taking children to school,  housework, fulfilling baking orders. As you can see I have hit the ground running after the holidays.
