Making time to write on my blog is what I like to do the most. Unfortunately, there a loads of other things that often get in the way :(. However, today I am making time for “me time” so writing it is (about what I have been up to and my plans for this next month), as well as, an exercise routine using resistance bands which I found on the TV that I want to try out.

My need to do something else “exercise wise” apart from the running which I find rather boring is due to having a young family who I want to keep up with. As I’m not getting any younger I must try and look after myself so apart from the healthy eating (which I have always had) and my love for yoga I started running for 15 minutes a day on the 1st of January – just in the house mind you. Don’t get me wrong, I do like the running or jogging but I’m not brave enough to go for a run outside yet – unlike my husband. I still like to get in the zone though and do my jogging in the house with my tunes playing through my headphones and my phone attached to my arm so I can monitor calories, distance and time ๐Ÿ™‚ Talk about going overboard but if it keeps me going then so be it. ๐Ÿ™‚

As for the resistance bands which I bought in Poundland, I tend to use them when I have been sat at the computer for too long and my shoulders ache so a few stretches with the bands seems to sort that problem out. However, I really want to try out a full routine with these bands in tow to see what happens. I let you know how it goes. ๐Ÿ™‚ I have added the Amazon search so you can look for the exercise equipment I am talking about here such as the phone holder for your arm or the resistance bands. This is an affiliate link so if you were to use Amazon via my blog I would receive a monetary commission for this. ๐Ÿ™‚

Right moving on from the exercising to my favourite subject – baking ๐Ÿ™‚ Monday was a day of baking a Chocolate Lava Cake for my daughter – her request. I love that my daughter’s birthday falls on “International Chocolate Cake Day” every year and that my daughter loves chocolate for her birthday cake.

After deciding what type of chocolate cake to bake whilst walking around the supermarket on Monday morning, I got home with plenty of time to bake the cake. However, I didn’t have time to decorate the cake. That happened later, when my daughters got home from school. As the chocolate water ganache was made and ready to use my children set to work decorating the cake whilst I headed off to pick up my youngest child from a club.

A Sneaky Peak of the Birthday Cake

WOW on returning home the cake was complete – adorned with Lindor chocolates the ganache had managed to work its way underneath or through the cake and as spilling onto the work surface. My daughters had cleaned up the overspill with the fingers – by the looks of things – so all was well. ๐Ÿ™‚ I only managed to take one photo of the finished cake so I am relying on the photos my daughter has taken to add to my blog.

A few hours later, a few photos later – “Happy Birthday” was sung and the cake demolished. There was some left for school the next day for my daughter to share out to her friends and chocolate cake is a great after school treat when you are a teenager. Nearly all gone now so that is good ๐Ÿ™‚ It means the cake was a big hit which is always good.

As for the rest of today, I’m gong to try out this new exercise routine with the help of my trusty resistance bands ( I know they are strong as my son and husband have spent a few nights playing tug of war with them). Also, I have plenty of other jobs to do behind the scenes for my blog and webshop and anew idea which I am working on. I really need to stay a bit later tonight to get some work finished after the children have gone to bed. ๐Ÿ™‚
